Studio Kinematix is an artistic duo that explores phenomenons in the moment when private physical sense of things is dissolved in its own ambiguity giving way to another, the assigned meaning. The concept is reflected in our interdisciplinary work that more often takes form and combines music, performance, object, installation, comic strip and video.
Studio Kinematix cuts music records on X-Ray images, which can be played on a turntable or displayed as an art object. This technique references the Samizdat bootlegging methods typical in the Soviet bloc and it is called Music on Bones.
Studio Kinematix has two permanent leaders -
